AIR SUPPORTHealthNet Aeromedical Service, serving WV for over 20 years, is a non-profit organization providing air medical services to citizens of West Virginia and surrounding areas. HealthNet is a collaborative effort with our sponsoring institutions, West Virginia University Hospitals (WVUH) in Morgantown, Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) in Charleston, and Cabell Huntington Hospital (CHH) in Huntington. Each of the three helicopter bases of operation provides back-up service to one another to more efficiently and comprehensively cover a large rural area. HealthNet Aeromedical Service is uniquely organized to provide emergency air transport using a region-wide systems approach. A major part of our effort involves transporting critically ill or injured patients between hospitals. We also transport patients from the scene of an accident or disaster to hospitals when requested by qualified emergency services and public safety personnel. Within minutes after receiving a call for assistance, our flight team is airborne and on their way to help sustain the lives of seriously ill or injured patients. When distance, geography, inaccessible locations, or road conditions make ground transport difficult, helicopter transport can make all the difference.
